Privacy Policy
Brolendar is made by Made of Copper ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Brolendar app collects, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to work: your account, your name and photo, your calendars and reminders, and a device token so we can send push notifications.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
- Your reminders are visible only to the people in the calendars you share them with.
- You can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time by contacting us.
What we collect
Everything below is collected when you create or use it in the app. We do not collect anything in the background.
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | An email address and a unique ID from Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or an email and password you choose. | To create and secure your account and let you sign back in. |
| Profile | A display name and, if you add one, a profile photo. | So the people in your calendars know who you are. |
| Calendars and memberships | The calendars you create or join, your nickname in each, and invite links you generate. | To run the shared calendars that are the core of the app. |
| Reminders | The title, date, time, urgency, and check-in schedule of each reminder you create. | To show reminders to your crew and send notifications at the times you choose. |
| Saves and points | A record that you reminded someone (by text or call), whether they confirmed it, and points earned. | To power the scoring and history features. |
| Push token | An anonymous device token issued by Apple and Expo. | To deliver push notifications to your phone. |
| Photos and camera | Access is requested only when you choose to set a profile photo. Only the photo you pick is uploaded. | For your profile picture. |
We do not collect your contacts, location, calendar data from other apps, or any analytics or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To operate the app: sign you in, show your calendars, and sync reminders between members.
- To send push notifications when a reminder's check-in time arrives, and when a member logs that they reminded you.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making about you.
Who sees your data
Other members
Anyone in a calendar you belong to can see your display name, profile photo, nickname, the reminders in that calendar, and the saves and points logged in it. When you leave or are removed from a calendar, you stop seeing its content and its members stop seeing new activity from you.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the app. They process data only on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments.
- Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage, including profile photos.
- Expo relays push notifications to Apple's notification service. Expo receives your device token and the notification text.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in if you choose those options. We receive only the identifier and email they provide.
Everyone else
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone else, except if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Reminders, saves, and calendar memberships persist so your history and points stay intact. When you delete your account, everything tied to it is removed as described below. Server backups may hold a copy for up to 30 days before it is purged.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all data associated with it at any time. Email us at copperstudio.apps@gmail.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account", and we will complete it within 7 days and confirm by reply.
Deletion removes your profile, photo, push token, the calendars you own, your memberships, the reminders you created, and the saves you logged. Saves recorded by other members on reminders you created are removed with those reminders. Some information may remain in other members' calendars where it is part of their own history, for example a points total that already counted a save you confirmed.
You can also remove a profile photo, leave a calendar, or delete individual reminders from inside the app.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing is performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Service) and our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the rights described above under the CCPA. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law.
Children
Brolendar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to each calendar is enforced on the server so members can only read the calendars they belong to. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where it makes sense, tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
